When Rhia is not filling up her time with academic and profession pursuits, she's joining whatever new group she has found. This is how she learned how to snowboard, how she learned (less well) how to take care of plants, how she picks up hobbies everywhere she goes. It's a good thing, she's decided. Because variety is the spice of life. Or so she's heard.
And, well, the girl loves an adventure.

People often first notice how many freckles are on her face. She wears jewelry with lots of minerals (mainly crystals). It's common to see her go on missions with a staff that holds the mineral she thinks will be most helpful for what they're going up against.

Rhia’s moms have a terrible meet cute (meet hate?) in a record store because they have opposite tastes but the one thing they can agree on is Fleetwood Mac. So they end up bonding over music anyway.
As wizards they were always interested in academic pursuits and pushing Rhiannon to be ambitious. However, they also had their feet firmly planted in nature as well. There were plenty of rituals that required natures help and Rhia could pretty much camp on her own by the time she was 10.
She always enjoyed a wizards duel but found herself going through spells very quickly and not feeling like it was enough. That’s where her interest in crystals began and the way they can be used to block or assist in her spells.
Watson, her welsh mom, was absolutely delighted when Rhia declared she’d go to wales for her PhD in mineralogy.
And that’s where she met Byron whose work interested her and she was constantly showing up to read his papers and give suggestions. Little did she know this made him think they were “rivals” when she considered them friends. Finishing her degree with the rest of her cohort was annoying because where did Byron go???. Her questions were answered when David through a tabloid on the table and complained to her and Felicity that Byron could not possibly be the top ten hottest adventurer and how did they not know he was a werewolf too? Two interesting facts that she was not expecting. But caused her to start doing some adventure society research.
Being able to do work outside of academia was appealing and so she submitted an application shortly before graduating, figuring she could split her time as needed.
